Day 2

Well it's day two and it feels as though we've been here for a week already! We started off doing different things this morning, myself, Matt, Alex, Bob and Mrs Barham all went to do food distribution in a local church a little ways away from where we are staying. It was amazing to see how many people lined up with bowls for the food we had. After the food was all gone the children were still lining up with their bowls, that was a devastating sight to see. I also got to do a bit of first aid on the kids. After that the pastor of the church took the group to see the village and the people living in it. He took us through the houses and small streets that were recently under water due to the floods. It's hard to explain what we saw and witnessed. The people are so friendly and are so loving it's amazing.

After that we went to a local school and helped the teachers out a bit by answering the students' questions and explaining how to work the computer.
The last activity I was a part of was building a house. It was so hot and humid you wouldn't believe it! The sun was almost unbearable. While we were building, little by little, kids kept coming around and laughing and smiling at us. This one boy eventually came over and started to help us out. He was so cute and just seemed like he knew exactly what he was doing. The people here are extremely friendly and just want to talk to you and know who you are. I just can't get over the fact that we're actually here and doing this. Its an amazing feeling to help these people and be here to see how different their culture is from ours.
So I better close for now. We're heading off to the childrens' home to put the kids to bed. Until tomorrow-

Bek
